What are Gummy Bear Implants?

Gummy bear implants are designed to give individuals a more natural look following a breast augmentation procedure. They are also known as form-stable implants or teardrop-shaped implants and are a popular option among women in the Rio Grande Valley/RGV area and elsewhere because they are low-risk and offer a variety of shapes and sizes that look like natural breasts.

Gummy bear implants are made of a cohesive silicone gel and have an additional layer of silicone on the outer shell that is thicker than the gel inside the implant. This enables the implants to maintain a firm consistency, and they won’t lose their shape if the outer shell is broken.

What are the Benefits?

While there are many advantages to gummy bear implants, many women choose to have this type of implant because they are durable and hold their shape better than other implants. Traditional silicone implants are not as thick as the cohesive silicone that is found in gummy bear implants. This is the primary reason they hold their shape for so long. In addition, many women choose to get gummy bear implants because they also feel more like natural breast tissue as opposed to saline implants.

Gummy bear implants are also less likely to ripple or fold. The material that is used in these implants has a distinct shape that will not migrate when it is put under the muscle or breast tissue. The material also has molecular bonds that are tighter than traditional silicone implants, which prevents the breasts from folding or rippling.

There is also less chance that these implants will leak. The cohesive silicone gel will prevent leaking that is caused by fold lines, which can put a strain on the implant and increase the risk of the implant rupturing. In addition, this type of implant has an interior that is semi-solid. If a gummy bear implant did rupture, the material wouldn’t move very far.

Who is an Ideal Candidate?

Ideal candidates for gummy bear implants will be in good health and non-smokers, and it is important that candidates have realistic expectations regarding the procedure, the recovery, and the results.
