Dr. Carlos Raul Barceló has spent nearly 35 years doing some of the most meaningful work in plastic surgery — rebuilding faces, repairing clefts, and changing lives.


Craniofacial Procedures at the Rios Center
At the Rios Center for Plastic Surgery, Dr. Barceló provides surgical care for a wide range of craniofacial conditions, including:
Cleft Lip Repair and Revision, Cleft Palate Repair, Cleft Rhinoplasty, Craniosynostosis Surgical Correction, Distraction Osteogenesis, Craniomaxillofacial Reconstruction, Parry-Romberg Syndrome Treatment, Ear Surgery, Facial Reconstruction following trauma or tumor removal, Rhinoplasty and Septoplasty in a functional or reconstructive context, Facial Fat Transfer, Cheek and Chin Augmentation in a reconstructive context, and Surgical Management of Obstructive Sleep Apnea.


Education and Training
Dr. Barceló completed his medical degree with honors at the School of Medicine, University of Guadalajara, Mexico, followed by his residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the Jalisco Institute for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He was board-certified by the Mexican Board of Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery and served on the faculty of the Jalisco Institute as both Assistant Professor and Associate Professor. He completed his craniomaxillofacial fellowship with the World Craniofacial Foundation at Medical City Dallas and has served as Medical Advisor to the Foundation since joining Sage Plastic Surgery in 2001.
He is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society of Craniofacial Surgeons, the American Society of Maxillofacial Surgeons, the International Society of Craniofacial Surgeons, the International Confederation of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery, the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the Mexican Society of Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery, the American Medical Association, the Texas Medical Association, and the Dallas County Medical Society.
